He spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard Him speaking to me.

Field of Faith Service at Chesnee High School
Tomorrow evening is the Field of Faith event at Chesnee High School with Chris “Shep” Shepherd. Shep played for the Dolphins and has a powerful testimony about his childhood problems, becoming a football player for the NFL, and becoming a man of God. Pray that many will come to know the Lord as Shep speaks to youth and adults during this event. The public is invited!

When God Speaks
It seems that God often chooses to speak to and through unlikely candidates. One look at yourself and you might ask, “Why did God choose me?” You may think that your own shortcomings and failures would preclude you from nearly any assignment God would give. Not 50. God chooses every one of us. He chooses to speak, and He expects us to listen to and obey His Word. Here is life’s most profound truth: Everything starts with God. “In the beginning God…” (Genesis 1:1) In the beginning, God spoke. From His words came all that isthe stars and planets, the oceans and rivers, the mountains and valleys, the plants and animals. Finally, God spoke and formed humankind out of earthly elements and gave them a spirit that set them above the rest of creation.
One has life when God grants it. One has authority when God gives it. One is a prophet when God gives a message. God spoke, and because He did, everything is. This is the God who has chosen men and women to bear His likeness and message. This is the God of glory and majesty. This is the God of creation. This is the God Ezekiel saw in his vision, and it is this God who chose Ezekiel as a messenger. Everything starts with God. He chooses the individual. He chooses the message. He chooses the people. He chooses the time.
Remember a time you believe God spoke to you. How did you know it was God? Did you listen and obey? Now, ask yourself… “Is God speaking to me right now?” If so, will you accept His authority? Will you do what He is asking you to do? If God is dealing with you on an issue of obedience, ask Christian friends to pray with you and for you.
