I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

The death of Moses created a leadership transition. God was not finished with the children of Israel who had not reached the Promised Land. God was prepared for this transition; He had been fashioning a new leader in a servant’s roll- Joshua. God’s choice was confirmed by Joshua’s response. Moses’ death created the potential for enormous chaos for the Israelites. The journey from Egypt to the Promised Land was incomplete…. There were promises God had not fulfilled — an agenda unrealized. Moses was gone, but God was not. The leadership baton was passed by divine design. Joshua was the critical link between the yesterdays and tomorrows of God’s promises.
